Shaak Ti
A wise and patient Jedi Master, the Togruta Shaak Ti fought at the Battle of Geonosis, and supervised the training of clone cadets on Kamino. There, she struggled to balance the necessity of producing capable troopers with compassion for the clones as living beings. Ti helped defend Kamino against Separatist attack, balancing assignments in the field with her duties on the Jedi Council.

Shaak Ti was a TogrutaJedi Master and member of the Jedi High Council in the waningyears of the Galactic Republic. During the Clone Wars, a galaxy-wide conflict between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Ti took part in the pivotal battles of Geonosis, Kamino, and Coruscant.
In addition to her role as a general for the Grand Army of the Republic, she personally oversaw the training and development of clone forces on Kamino. While in this role, she became entangled in a conspiracy surrounding the origins of the organic inhibitor chips placed in every clone, and the secrets being kept from the Jedi about them. During the Battle of Coruscant, Ti was sent to protect Supreme ChancellorSheev Palpatine, but was knocked unconcious in a duel with Separatist General Grievous. As she meditated during the attack on the Jedi Temple, she was killed by Darth Vader, the fallen Jedi Anakin Skywalker.
BiographyEdit
Early lifeEdit
Shaak Ti Death
Shaak Ti was born on the planetShili[1] in 59 BBY.[2]She joined the Jedi Order, and at some point following the Battle of Naboo, gained a seat on the Jedi High Council, taking the place of MasterYaddle.[4]
Road to warEdit
The Galactic Republic was in a state of turmoil during this time, as the Secessionist Movement, led by former JediCountDooku, threatened the stability of the Republic. The Secessionist Movement led to debate over the creation of a military force to combat an impending war. After the attempted assassination of Naboo's senatorPadmé Amidala, Ti and the other members of the Jedi Council assigned Jedi KnightObi-Wan Kenobi to investigate the assassination attempts while his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, protected the senator. Ti was present in the Jedi Archives when Kenobi was researching the planet Kamino. Upon arriving to Kamino, Kenobi learned that the deceased Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas had, years earlier, secretly ordered a clone army from the Kaminoans with the help of a man named Tyranus. Later, while following Amidala's would-beassassin, Kenobi was captured by Dooku on Geonosis. The Jedi Council was informed of his peril by Skywalker and Amidala, who unsuccessfully attempted to rescue Kenobi, leading to their capture.[4]
The Clone WarsEdit
Battle of GeonosisEdit
Ti participated in the Battle of Geonosis, the conflict that sparked the Clone Wars between the Republic and the Separatist Alliance. As a participant, she was a member of the Jedi assault team assembled by fellow Jedi Council member Mace Windu to rescue Kenobi, Skywalker, and Amidala from being executed by the Separatists at Petranaki Arena on Geonosis. When Windu made the Jedi's presence known, every Jedi ignited their lightsabers. Ti and Master Luminara Unduli ignited their lightsabers simultaneously, and quickly joined the battle. Dooku unleashed hordes of Battle Droids to counterattack the Jedi, who were quickly overwhelmed, leaving only a small group left standing, including Ti.[4]
The Droid Army was ready to end the survivors when Grand MasterYoda arrived with the newly deployed Grand Army of the Republic. Several LAAT/i gunships formed a perimeter around the Jedi. Ti, Unduli, and Master Saesee Tiin boarded a gunship and were airlifted out of the arena and to safety. With the clone's help, the Jedi successfully rescued Kenobi, Skywalker and Amidala, and won the ensuing battle, though at the cost of numerous Jedi.[4]
Overseeing clone training and Domino SquadEdit
- 'I am a Jedi, where the individual and the group are one and the same—much like you clones.'
'Which is why Fives and I are looking out for each other.'
'As individuals, but not as a group. You are where you need to be. Solve your problems as a whole, not as individuals. I have decided to allow you and the rest of your squad to take the test again tomorrow.' - ―Shaak Ti and Echo[src]
Early in the war, Ti was assigned to Kamino in order to oversee the production and training of new clonetroopers at the primary cloning facilities in Tipoca City. She, along with paid bounty huntersMaster ChiefBric and El-Les, were tasked with conducting training exercises. One clone training group, Domino Squad, was ineffective in following protocol and working as a team. Following one such failed exercise, Bric implied that the group were 'rejects', and should be demoted to sanitation detail. El-Les was more sympathetic, and wanted Domino Squad to continue training.[5]
Ti later conversed with the Kaminoan Prime Minister, Lama Su, on what the clones' consequence should be. Su suggested rejecting the squad, by means of termination, an idea Ti opposed. Su ultimately left the final decision to Ti. She was approached by two members of Domino Squad, CT-5555, 'Fives', and CT-1409, 'Echo', who asked for transfer to another squad. Ti disapproved of their plea and told them that, when in battle, they should fight as a group, not as individuals. With that, Ti allowed Domino Squad to face one more challenge. Domino Squad successfully completed it, and Ti graduated them to the Grand Army of the Republic.[5]
Battle of KaminoEdit
- 'The droids are spread thin. We must press our offensive now!'
- ―Shaak Ti[src]
After the Republic intercepted a message between GeneralGrievous and Asajj Ventress discussing a planned attack on Kamino, Ti and Su greeted Kenobi and Skywalker when they arrived in Tipoca City with reinforcements. A Separatist fleet soon arrived and engaged the Republic blockade that defended Kamino. Ti monitored the progress of the battle from Tipoca City's control room alongside Kenobi, Su, CaptainRex and CommanderCody. She noted that the Separatist fleet was not large enough to defeat the blockade, and ordered Skywalker to lead the Republic's fighters in assaulting the enemy. Several Munificent-class star frigates were destroyed protecting Grievous' flagship, with their debris crashing in the ocean near Tipoca City. Kenobi became concerned that the battle was too easy, and left Ti and the others to investigate the wreckage. He discovered Aqua droids assembling Trident-class assault ships underwater, but was unable to warn the city before the droids began their assault.[6]
When the control room came under assault by several Aqua droids, Ti quickly dispatched them and contacted the other Jedi, noting the attacking droids were spread thin throughout the city and that the Republic needed to press their counterattack quickly. While Kenobi engaged Grievous and Skywalker hunted down Ventress, who attempted to steal a genetic sample of the clone's DNA, Ti led the clone troopers in pushing the droids back to Tipoca City's main hangar, contacting Cody to inform him on the progress of the battle. The remaining droids were soon destroyed and the Separatist fleet retreated, along with both Grievous and Ventress.[6]
Serving the CouncilEdit
Strange distress signalEdit
When the Jedi received a nearly 2,000-year-old distress code, Ti and the Council sent Kenobi, Skywalker, and his apprentice, Ahsoka Tano to the Chrelythiumn system, where they were to investigate the signal and rendevous with a star cruiser helmed by Rex. Despite having the correct coordinates, the three Jedi could not find the other ship, and became trapped in an otherworldly plane. They later managed to leave and complete their rendevous.[7]
Disappearances on KirosEdit
In the face of a Separatist invasion, the Togrutan governor of Kiros decided to negotiate with Dooku, knowing that Republic aid would arrive too late. Kenobi and Skywalker arrived with their entourages, only to discover that the Togrutan colonists were relocated by the Separatists. When Ti and the Council learned of this, they dispatched Kenobi, Skywalker, Tano, and Rex with finding the colonists and rescuing them.[8]
The Council's plotEdit
When it was discovered that Dooku and criminal mastermind Moralo Eval had a plot to kidnap Palpatine, Ti and the rest of the Council arranged for Kenobi to go undercover as bounty hunter Rako Hardeen to stop Eval and Dooku from succeeding. Ti attended the faux funeral of Kenobi, standing alongside Windu and Satine Kryze of Mandalore.[9] The Council's plan was a success, and the Chancellor came out unscathed.[10]
Rebellion on OnderonEdit
When the Separatists invaded Onderon and replaced it's king, Ramsis Dendup, with their own, Sanjay Rash, a small group of Dendup's followers rebelled against the new monarch. They reached out to the Council, asking for support. Ti and the rest of the Council were wary, as the rebel's fight did not involve the Republic. Nonetheless, the Council sent Kenobi, Skywalker, Tano, and Rex to train the rebels in secret.[11]
Bombing of the Temple and Trial of Ahsoka TanoEdit
Following the bombing of the Jedi Temple hangar, Ti and the Council met to discuss who the culprit could be. Windu entertained the idea that the bomber could be a rogue Jedi, and assigned Skywalker and Tano to investigate. Their investigation led to the arrest of Letta Turmond, who had fed nano-droid explosives to her unwitting husband, a worker in the Temple.[12] Ti later attended the funeral for the six Jedi killed in the bombing. Following the services, Ti and the Council met to listen to Kenobi's report on the Separatist activity on Saleucami. His report was cut short by AdmiralWilhuff Tarkin, who told those present of Turmond's request to speak to Tano. Tano met with the prisoner, and in a startling turn of events, Turmond was killed and Tano was on the run, blamed for her murder.[13] Ti attended the Council meeting in which Tarkin accused Tano of masterminding the attack, causing Ti to exchange a shocked look with Kit Fisto.[14]
After Tano's capture, Tarkin requested that the Council expel Tano from the Order so that a military trial could take place, free of what he believed to be a bias among the Jedi. Fearing that a refusal would be seen as an act of sedition, the Council reluctantly agreed. Ti was one of the judges during Tano's trial in the Chamber of Judgment, where the young Padawan was expelled from the Jedi Order and stripped of her ranks within the Grand Army of the Republic. Skywalker ultimately proved Tano's innocence, revealing that it was Padawan Barriss Offee who had become disillusioned with the Order, gave Turmond the nano-droids, and framed Tano for it all. The Council apologized to Tano and offered her a chance to rejoin, though she refused and left the Jedi Order.[15]
Clone conspiracyEdit
- 'I can't believe Fives would try to assassinate the Chancellor.'
'The Kaminoans feel a virus corrupted his inhibitor chip, which has led to this behavior. ARC Trooper Fives feels he is the victim of a plot, Separatist or otherwise.' - ―Anakin Skywalker and Shaak Ti discuss Five's breakdown[src]
Following clone trooper Tup's breakdown during the Battle of Ringo Vinda, in which he killed Jedi General Tiplar, he was sent to Kamino for an examination. He was accompanied by Fives, who Ti sent for an examination as well. Ti and Kaminoan doctor Nala Se then began their tests on Tup. Se conducted a hyper test, a practice Ti was not fond of. The tests yielded nothing, and Tup began acting strangely before Se sedated him.[16]
The medical droidAZI-3 suggested a phase 5 atomic scan be performed on Tup, in order to find the source of his breakdown. Se claimed that the scan could kill him, and instead suggested that they terminate the clone and do an autopsy on his body, as she believed that the cause of his behavior was a virus. Ti instead believed that the cause was mental. While Se conversed with Lama Su, Ti contacted the Jedi Council on Coruscant to discuss the issue. The Council told her to bring the clone back to the Jedi Temple, where they would examine him through the Force.[16]
Ti was then alerted to an invader alarm on Kamino which she found had been triggered by Fives, who, along with AZI-3, had run an atomic scan on Tup and extracted a tumor which he believed to be the cause of Tup's behavior. Tup soon died muttering that he was 'free of the nightmares'. Ti and Se contacted Supreme ChancellorSheev Palpatine and told them about the situation. The Chancellor told them to bring the data to the Grand Republic Medical Facility on Coruscant.[16] Ti however, invoking her authority, decided to take the data to the Jedi first—much to the protest of Se—and told Fives that one last test would be conducted on him before he could return to duty.[17]
Before she could leave, Ti was alerted that Fives and AZI-3 were attempting to escape. She gave chase, but was unable to catch them before they left in an escape pod. As they attempted to track him down, Ti felt that they were searching in the wrong place. Her suspicion turned out to be true when she learned that someone was accessing the Jango Fett template data. Ti, along with several troopers and Se, discovered that it was indeed Fives and AZI-3. They gave chase but, again, were unable to capture them. Ti realized that they were researching something and weren't planning to escape. She later saw Se quietly leaving the command center and followed her with a squad of clone troopers. She arrived in time to see Fives holding a blaster to Se and told him to surrender.[17]
She learned that Fives, assisted by AZI-3, had discovered that the tumor had been bio-engineered and had suspected a larger plot to be the cause of Tup's actions. The duo had also discovered that all troopers, including Fives, had been implanted with the same organic inhibitor chip. Se claimed that the chip had been placed to inhibit aggressive behavior, while Fives pointed out to Ti that the chip's malfunction in Tup had caused him to lose his mind. When he told them that he had removed his chip, Se claimed that Fives was now a threat and should be terminated.[17]
Ti again invoked Jedi authority, insisting that both Fives and the chips be sent to the Supreme Chancellor for investigation, rather than let the troopers be terminated by the Kaminoans. Fives thanked her for trusting him, to which Ti replied that she was only doing what was right.[17] Ti led Fives, as well as Se, to the Supreme Chancellor on Coruscant. Fives insisted to the Chancellor that the chips should be removed from the clones, while Se still claimed that he was a threat. The Chancellor then requested Ti and Se to wait outside while he talked with Fives. As Ti was meditating outside, she heard blaster fire and opened the door to see Fives disarming the Chancellor and his security. Fives began to aim his weapon at the Chancellor, but Ti used the Force to stop him. The Chancellor claimed that Fives had tried to assassinate him. Fives ran out of the room and down a staircase. Ti chased after the fleeing clone, and jumped down the staircase to the medical bay. She ordered that the blast doors be closed, but Fives managed to make it through in time.[18]
Ti met with Master Plo Koon, Yoda, Windu and Skywalker and told them about Fives' actions. Skywalker, whose legion Fives belonged to, expressed disbelief upon hearing that he had tried to assassinate the Chancellor. Ti told them that the Kaminoans believed that a virus had caused the clones' inhibitor chip to malfunction, resulting in this behavior, while Fives believed that he was the victim of a conspiracy. Windu then said that Fives should be captured alive to uncover if there was any conspiracy. Skywalker said that he would bring Fives in with the help of Rex. Ti warned him to be cautious, as the removal of the chip might have changed Fives. While trying to tell Skywalker and Rex about the truth behind the inhibitor chips, Fives was killed by Commander Fox.[18]
Ti, along with Skywalker, Windu, and Yoda, met with the Chancellor later, where he gave his own explanation of the clones' breakdown. Palpatine told the Jedi that his investigation had led him to believe that a parasite native to Ringo Vinda had caused the chips to malfunction, and that an inoculation for it had been developed which would be administered to the clones. The Jedi accepted the Chancellor's words and nothing more was made of the situation.[18]
Crisis on BardottaEdit
Soon after, Palpatine informed the Jedi Council of QueenJulia of Bardotta's request for Jar Jar Binks to assist her after the disappearance of several Dagoyan Masters. Ti, along with the rest of the council, discussed the matter, ultimately deciding that Binks should not go alone, leading to Windu's decision to accompany Binks.[19]
Tyranus revealedEdit
After receiving a decades-old distress call from the lost ship of Sifo-Dyas, the Jedi Council sent Master Koon to investigate. After confirming the ship as Sifo-Dyas', the council chose to investigate the matter deeper. Ti was present when Skywalker and Kenobi gave a report of their mission to Oba Diah, where they were confronted by Dooku. They had learned of the startling realization that Dooku and Tyranus, the man who helped Sifo-Dyas order the clone army, were one and the same. Ti and her fellow council members chose to keep this revelation secret, as support in the war effort would disintegrate if the public knew that the Sith had a secret connection to the army.[20]

Yoda's visionsEdit
Ti was present at a Jedi High Council meeting in which the members expressed concern over Yoda's health. Ti, along with the other Council members, meditated with Yoda in an effort to hear a voice Yoda claimed to have heard, the voice belonging to Qui-Gon Jinn. The meditation proved fruitless. Ti later appeared to Yoda in a vision on Dagobah, in which she was impaled by Anakin Skywalker's lightsaber while meditating.[21]
Ti, alongside many Jedi both dead and alive, later appeared in another of Yoda's visions as he walked through the Valley of Extinction in the mysterious Wellspring of Life. Ti was seen conversing with Barriss Offee and Adi Gallia. The former was imprisoned on Coruscant and the latter killed on Florrum. All Jedi present gathered underneath the Great Tree, where Yoda realized that these events were an illusion, calling out Jiin and Gallia as being deceased, and Dooku as being a traitor. The illusions, including Ti, were lifted into the sky, and the vision was ended.[22]
Crisis on UtapauEdit
Following the death of the Jedi Tu-Anh on Utapau, Kenobi and Skywalker discovered that the Separatists were secretly transporting a massive kyber crystal to Serenno. Ti was present during Kenobi's report of the situation, listening as Yoda ordered him to keep the crystal out of Separatist hands. The subsequent mission led to the crystal's destruction by the Jedi. Ti sat among her fellow masters when Skywalker and Kenobi reported their actions to the council. The Jedi learned from Yoda that kyber crystals like the one on Utapau had once powered ancient superweapons constructed by the Sith, and that the mysterious Dark Lord of the Sith might one day discover another giant kyber crystal and craft a new superweapon.[23]
Plot to assassinate DookuEdit
- 'I agree, but Vos doesn't have to be in the field.'
'But if he is there, he will be able to react immediately with any knowledge he has that we don't. I feel he is ready to be sent on a more delicate mission.' - ―Mace Windu and Shaak Ti discuss Quinlan Vos[src]
Ti was present at a Jedi Council meeting following the attack on Mahranee, where Windu suggested that assassinating Dooku could help end the war. Ti remained silent during the meeting, her expression calm but sorrowful. After careful consideration, the Council chose to send Quinlan Vos. Vos, alongside Dooku's former assassin, Ventress, trained to take down Dooku. The plan failed, as Vos was captured and Ventress narrowly escaped.[24]
Following a failed attempt to free Vos and the revelation that he was Dooku's new apprentice, Ventress met with Kenobi and was brought to the Temple. Ti was in a meeting with Yoda, Windu, Koon, and Ki-Adi-Mundi when Kenobi and Ventress entered. All except Yoda raised theirlightsabers in response to Ventress' appearance. With reassurance from Kenobi, the Jedi lowered their defenses. With the Jedi's help, Vos was freed. The Council learned that he had, according to his own recollection, not fallen to the dark side and was merely imprisoned by Dooku. The Council met soon after to discuss what to do with him, as Ventress refused to believe that he was no longer free of the dark side and the Council was divided on how he should have been handled. Windu wanted to keep him away from the war effort, as Vos posed a threat to the Republic, due to his knowledge of both Republic and Separatist information and his ties with Dooku. Both Kenobi and Ti spoke against this, saying that his knowledge would aid the Republic, and they should give him smaller assignments until he was deemed ready to rejoin the war at hand. Over the next several months, Vos led several smaller missions to small Separatist storage facilities and listening posts, each of which ended with growing suspicion as to Vos' loyalty, as every outpost seemed to have been abandoned by the Separatists before the Republic forces arrived. To test his loyalty, the Council sent him to assassinate Dooku once more. He recruited Ventress again, and they traveled to Christophsis. Ventress was proven right in her belief that he was still under the influence of the dark side, but sacrificed herself at the hands of Dooku in order to redeem him. Vos was ultimately allowed to rejoin the Order, and he returned Ventress' body to her homeworld of Dathomir.[24]
Battle of CoruscantEdit
During the Outer Rim Sieges, the Separatists staged a massive invasion of Coruscant. The battle, however, was a ruse to slip Grievous onto the surface of the planet to kidnap Palpatine.[25] After making his way through, and subsequently killing, several clone forces and the Jedi Roron Corobb, Grievous met up with Ti, who tried to prevent him from reaching the Chancellor. Using both her lightsaber and a MagnaGuardelectrostaff, she fought to protect Palpatine from the General.[26] She failed, as Grievous knocked her unconscious with electric cables. Grievous took her lightsaber, and successfully captured the Chancellor, transporting him to the Separatist flagship Invisible Hand.[27] Kenobi and Skywalker were called upon to rescue the Chancellor, and the ensuing battle ended with not only his rescue, but also the death of Dooku.[25]
Tension in the OrderEdit
Following the Separatist's loss on Coruscant, Grievous was named the Confederacy's new Head of State. The Council, upon learning of this, made his capture their highest priority in order to end the war. Palpatine, who the Council already strongly distrusted, took it upon himself to appoint Skywalker to the Council. With little option, the Council agreed, but refused to grant him the rank of Master, infuriating the young Jedi. The Council had only agreed in order to spy on the Chancellor through Skywalker. Ti was not present during these events, but did attend the meeting where Skywalker informed the Council that Republic Intelligence had located Grievous on Utapau. Skywalker volunteered to lead the mission, but was replaced by Kenobi at Windu and Ki-Adi-Mundi's urging. These events strained the relationship between not only the Council and the Chancellor, but also Skywalker.[25]
Attack on the Jedi Temple and deathEdit
Soon after the Battle of Coruscant, it was discovered that Palpatine, revealed to be the true Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Sidious, had been manipulating the Republic and the Jedi. After killing Windu, Sidious turned Skywalker to the dark side of the Force. He enacted Order 66, which used the clones' inhibitor chips to turn them against the Jedi. As the Jedi spread across the galaxy were being massacred, the temple was attacked by Skywalker, newly christened Darth Vader.[25] Ti recorded a message on a holocron, urging whoever found the message to continue the legacy of the Force, and not to let the Purge be the end of the Jedi.[26] As she meditated during the attack, Ti was killed by Vader,[3] in accordance to Yoda's visions.[21]
LegacyEdit
- 'Whoever is seeing this… it's up to you now. Don't let our deaths have been in vain. Don't let this be the end of the Jedi.'
- ―A holocron recording of Shaak Ti[src]
Shortly after the Battle of Fortress Vader, Vader entered a portal constructed by LordMomin to resurrect his deceased wife, Padmé Amidala. While walking through and experiencing various illusions, he entered one where several Jedi, dead and alive, confronted him, including Ti. However, Vader destroyed the illusions, impaling both Ti and Koon simultaneously as the words 'Let the past die' resounded in his mind.[28]
Many years after Order 66, Ti's holocron was found by Vader's son, Luke Skywalker, in Grakkus the Hutt's collection of Jedi artifacts on Nar Shaddaa. Under pressure from the Hutt, he opened several holocrons, and witnessed Ti's message through the artifact.[29]
Around 34 ABY, fifty-three years after her death, stone artwork of Ti and several other Jedi could be found at Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities on Batuu.[30]
Personality and traitsEdit
Shaak Ti had dark grey/blueeyes and red skin that included white markings and gray stripes.[4] Ti was regarded as wise and patient, and a devoted believer in the ways of the Jedi.[26]
Ti was noted by Fives to be a helping and caring individual, valuing the lives of the clones not as objects but as people. This often led to conflict with the Kaminoans, who regarded the clones as property. She openly opposed the Kaminoan's preferred methods of treating clones, such as hyper tests and termination. Ti wasn't afraid to invoke authority over the Kaminoans in order to protect the clones, as seen when she let Fives plead his case to the Chancellor against Nala Se's wishes. Ti claimed to Fives that it wasn't a matter of belief in either side, but that it was simply the right thing to do. The Kaminoans criticized Ti and the Jedi, citing their compassion and creative thinking as poor influences on the clones.[17][16]
Powers and abilitiesEdit
Ti was skilled in using telekinesis during battle. During the Battle of Kamino, she used telekinesis to lift two Aqua droids and slam them into two other droids hard enough to destroy all four.[6] Ti used the Force to disarm Fives as he was about to assassinate Palpatine, and while chasing after the rogue clone, performed a Force jump to catch up, leaping easily over a large crowd.[18] As a Togruta, Ti's hollow montrals allowed her to sense the movement of objects around them. This echolocation, which could reach up to 82 feet, paired with her natural Force abilities allowed Ti to be very perceptive of her surroundings.[31]
Ti's martial capabilities were also enough to ensure her survival during the Battle of Geonosis, an engagement which saw the deaths of nearly 200 Jedi.[4] Ti had the skill to wield two melee weapons at once as she, at one point during the Battle of Coruscant, wielded both her lightsaber and an electrostaff.[26]
As the overseer of clone training on Kamino, Ti demonstrated an affinity for teaching.[3]
EquipmentEdit
Ti wielded a blue lightsaber, using it during throughout the Clone Wars until it was stolen by Grievous during the Battle of Coruscant.[27]
Although she commonly wore a standard Jedi robe, underneath she wore a flowing brown skirt and an intricately designed scarf and tabard, along with a sleeveless brown undershirt accompanied by matching sleeves that stretched from her shoulders to her wrists.[4][5]
Behind the scenesEdit
- 'Each time I was on set it took four hours to prepare my character. The entire costume was heavy, with a long tail, two horns, and a long skirt. It was hard to move! But I'm very happy that I had a chance to play this cool character. I'm proud to be a Jedi Master.'
- ―Orli Shoshan on portraying Shaak Ti[src]
Shaak Ti was created by concept artists Dermot Power and Iain McCaig, who designed her as a Jedi with rubicund complexion as well with her intricately patterned and layered brocade for use in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones.[32] She was played by Orli Shoshan in Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.[4][25] Shoshan had previous training in martial arts, but the bulky costume made it tricky for her to perform melee combat.[26] She was voiced by Tasia Valenza in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.[5]
Deleted scenes and canonical fateEdit
In the final edit of Revenge of the Sith, most of the footage featuring Shaak Ti was cut, including two possible death scenes for her. In one, she is captured by General Grievous and taken aboard the Invisible Hand, when Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi make it aboard the ship they find a strangely despondent Ti sitting at the feet of Grievous, stating that she is sorry for failing him before Grievous stabs and kills her in front of the two Jedi.[32] It was later planned to have the Star Wars Legends character Tsui Choi fill her seat at the Jedi High Council, as seen in the film's set diary.[33] However, the character was spared after the deletion of the scene and was featured in a later scene.[32] In another deleted scene of Episode III, which takes place during the Jedi Purge, Ti is meditating when she feels the presence of Vader and asks what he wants. Vader then stabs and kills her.[32] The scene exists as 'Anakin kills Shaak Ti' animatic and is part of the deleted scenes released on the Blu-ray in 2011. Ti's canonical death was finally confirmed as being killed by Darth Vader during Order 66 in the 2016 reference book Star Wars: Galactic Atlas.[3]

Shaak Ti was a female Togruta Jedi who was on the Jedi Council during the Clone Wars. She was one of the few Jedi to survive the Great Jedi Purge but was later killed by Vader's secret apprentice Starkiller on Felucia. Shaak Ti was on the Jedi High Council and served as a High General during the Clone Wars.
BiographyEdit
Early life and careerEdit
Shaak Ti, like most Jedi of the era, was discovered on her homeworld Shili as an infant when doctors identified her as Force-sensitive. Taken to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, Ti entered into the academy there and spent the next decade studying the ways of the Force and the Jedi Code. After graduating from the academy, Ti was selected as a Padawan by a Jedi Master and traveled the galaxy to complete her training. After passing her Trials of Knighthood Ti was raised to the rank of Jedi Knight by the Jedi High Council. As a Knight Ti pursued the path of the Jedi Consular, strengthening her connection to the Force and working under the Council of Reconciliation. Like many of the Order, Ti was permitted to travel back to her homeworld and connect with her roots. Undergoing a traditional Togrutan right of passage, Ti tracked and killed a wild Akul beast and crafted an elegant headdress from its teeth. During her early career Ti took her first student, choosing to train him on her birth planet, Shili. Amongst the vast, dry scrublands Ti taught her student the ways of the Jedi, eventually raising him to Knighthood. Parting ways, it wasn't long before Shaak Ti got word that he had been killed by a criminal on one of his first missions. Having failed her first student, Ti decided to try again when she chose the Initiate Fe Sun as her second apprentice. Once more traveling to Shili and training her student in a slightly unorthodox manner, Ti did not believe in the traditional application of skills through the acceptance of missions from one of the Jedi Councils. Training Sun to the rank of Knight, Ti suffered the loss of the girl when she was killed by the Zeltron criminal Lyshaa. While struck by grief, Ti was dedicated to the Jedi way of detachment and allowed herself to come to terms with both her students' deaths. This did not prevent some on the High Council from questioning her methods of training students. Ti took it upon herself to track down Lyshaa and bring her to justice, seeing her imprisoned for countless years on the planet Brentaal IV.
Jedi MasterEdit
Eventually, Shaak Ti was recognized by the High Council as a highly trained Jedi and raised her to the rank of Master. As a Master, Ti went on to complete many assignments, gaining great respect from her peers. When High Councilor Yaddle was killed during an incident on Mawan in 26 BBY, Master Ti was nominated to the august body to replace the diminutive Master. Accepting the appointment, Ti would contribute her insight to the governing Council for several years. Two years later, as tensions between the Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems threatened to split the galaxy in two, the Dark Jedi Granta Omega, Master Yaddle's murderer, reemerged and arranged an assassination plot on Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Along with fellow Councillor Jedi Master Coleman Trebor and several other Jedi, Shaak Ti defended the Chancellor, foiling the plot. As the Separatist Crisis continued to gain momentum, Ti issued an official statement from the Temple supporting the actions of Jedi Sarissa Jeng's team on Antar 4. The team had attempted to negotiate peace without a standoff but were forced to engage a band of activists after hostages were taken. In 22 BBY, Ti was stationed on Coruscant when an assassination attempt was made on the life of Senator Padmé Amidala of Naboo hours before the vital vote on the Military Creation Act that set before the Galactic Senate. While the assassination was foiled by the Jedi, the High Council assigned Padawan Anakin Skywalker to escort her back to her homeworld while Skywalker's master, Obi-Wan Kenobi, tracked the being who put the hit on the Senator. Shaak Ti occupied the next few days with study and research at the Temple, spending many hours in the Temple Archives.
Clone WarsEdit
First year of warEdit
When the High Council was notified that Jedi Kenobi had been captured and sentenced to death on the desert world Geonosis, Master of the Order Mace Windu rallied all Jedi present at the Temple and rushed to Kenobi's aid. Accompanying the striker team of over two hundred Jedi sent, Ti and her comrades landed on the dusty plains outside the Petranaki arena and rushed on foot to storm the structure. Once inside, the Jedi simultaneously ignited their sabers and set to freeing Kenobi, as well as the chained Padawan Skywalker and Senator Amidala. Fighting through the hundreds of Techno Union battle droids, the Jedi who did not fall were herded into a tight circle at the center of the arena. Count Dooku, the leader of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, offered an ultimatum to Windu and the Jedi: join him, or die. Refusing, the Jedi were prepared to fight when to the death when Grand Master Yoda arrived with the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic. While deflecting blasterfire, Master Ti boarded a Republic gunship with fellow Jedi Luminara Unduli, Plo Koon, Agen Kolar, Stass Allie, Saesee Tiin and Roth-Del Masona. Setting the gunship down in the plains outside the arena, Ti and her comrades raced into battle, leading their new soldiers from the front lines. Added by RedemptionReturning to Coruscant, Ti took up the rank of General and began helping coordinate war strategy for the Republic. Because of the need for more Knights, Master Shaak Ti suggested that the Council forgo the typical Trials of Knighthood and reconstitute the method of war-time promotion; a practice which had not been permitted since the New Sith Wars. When Jedi Kenobi suggested that his Padawan be promoted, Master Ti joined Masters Oppo Rancisis and Even Piell in their hesitancy, proposing that Skywalker face the Jedi Trials#Trial of the Spirit before being knighted. When Skywalker completed the Council's test, Ti met with her fellow Councilors in the Hall of Knighthood to raise the boy to the ranks of Knight. Two months into the war, Master Ti accompanied Grand Master Yoda in an assault on a distant world. While Master Saesee Tiin led an aerial assault with the Sons and Daughters of Freedom, Ti joined another Jedi Knight in taking the planet in the name of the Republic. As the war began to gain momentum, the High Council decided to dispatch one of their own, Master Shaak Ti, to safeguard the clone production facilities and oversee the training of the clone cadets training there. Serving as adviser to Prime Minister Lama Su, Ti worked with the Cuy'val Dar trainers at Tipoca City to administer the tests that each clone squad had to pass before they saw battle. One squad in particular, Domino Squad, seemed to lack what it took to ever see battle, disappointing even their teachers. Bounty hunter Bric deemed them a failure; hunter El-Les wanted to be sympathetic. Shaak Ti initially failed the group, but after giving them some motivational advice, the four clones passed their final test and were deployed. Not long after Master Ti was notified of a potential Separatist attack on the cloning facilities. Reinforced by Master Oppo Rancisis' battle group and several Jedi Knights, Ti joined Prime Minister Su in the Tipoca City command center to coordinate the defense of the facilities. As the CIS General Merai began the battle, Jedi defended the facility from the skies over the vast oceans of Kamino. When the Separatists broke through and began landing troops in the city, Ti began to order the evacuation of the adolescent clones. In desperation, Su opted to activated the Advanced Recon Commandos, ARC troopers who had remained in stasis tubes since the beginning of the war. Fighting alongside the ARCs, Ti made her way to the laboratory housing the third generation of fetal clones with trooper A-17. Chased by dozens of battle droids, Ti and the trooper were joined by Jedi Kenobi and Skywalker, both following along as the team crossed the narrow transparisteel connector-bridge that attached to the underwater lab. Prepared to destroy the fetal clones to avoid them falling into the hands of the CIS, A-17 eventually accepted the Jedi's plan of destroying the bridge to the lab until help could arrive. With the bridge and the droids destroyed, Ti used the Force to plug the hole and keep the ocean at bay, waiting out the rest of the battle until help could rescue her and her comrades. It wasn't long before the Separatists planned another strike at Kamino, this time led by General Grievous and Commander Asajj Ventress, two of the highest ranking members in the Separatist Droid Army. Reinforced once more by Jedi Kenobi and Skywalker, Ti and Su coordinated the defenses until droids breached the control center. As Skywalker and Kenobi engaged Ventress and Grievous respectively, Shaak Ti led clones against the droid army and was successful in repelling them from the planet once again. Despite a few more smaller attempts, Shaak Ti's strategy proved successful in preventing another full-scale assault on the planet throughout the rest of the war.
Battle of HyporiEdit
The Battle of Hypori was the result of intelligence gathered by the Jedi Master, Daakman Barrek, and his Padawan learner, Sha'a Gi, which indicated the presence of a large droid factory on Hypori. A Jedi task force, consisting of Barrek and his Padawan, along with Ki-Adi-Mundi, Aayla Secura, Shaak Ti, K'Kruhk and Tarr Seirr were dispatched to the planet to destroy the factory, reinforced by an army of clone troopers. They were to be led by Barrek, due to his superior knowledge of industrial matters. As the Republic ships emerged from hyperspace, orbital mines caused the majority of the transports to crash behind the Separatist's lines. The task force was quickly surrounded by the massive droid army that was stationed on the planet, and all the clone troopers present were quickly slaughtered. The seven remaining Jedi retreated to an area of the planet where a large number of the Acclamator-class assault ships had crash landed. Daakman Barrek was the first of the Jedi to die at the hand of Grievous at the battle.
Duel with GrievousEdit
The six remaining Jedi were left surrounded by the hordes of B2 super battle droids produced by the factory. Announced to by Grievous that they would receive a 'warrior's death' and to make peace with the Force, they waited as Grievous slowly approached. Shaak Ti felt that Grievous's strategy was without flaw since they were never before outmaneuvered by droids. The Jedi were weary from the battle and were very weak when they fought Grievous. Master Ti dueled General Grievous, alongside Ki-Adi-Mundi, Aayla Secura, K'Kruhk, Tarr Seirr after Sha'a Gi had been killed by Grievous. As the Jedi retreated into the wreckage, Grievous suddenly attacked, dropping from the wreckage above brandishing two lightsabers. After a few moments of fencing, Grievous began to focus his efforts on Mundi. The Cerean promptly leapt onto a ledge above and launched a powerful Force Push at Grievous. The cyborg quickly dodged, leaping onto the side of one of the larger pieces of wreckage before spring-boarding of it and launching himself at the Jedi. Landing in a crouch, Grievous was promptly engaged by K'Kruhk. Despite the Whiphid's tenacity, Grievous defeated him with a quick slash across the belly and a rapid overhand blow. Leaving K'Kruhk for dead, Grievous turned to the other Jedi. Defending himself against a telekinetic assault by Shaak Ti, Grievous grabbed Tarr Seirr with his clawed foot and crushed the young Cerean's head against the ground. As Aayla Secura charged, Grievous grabbed her with his other foot and tossed her aside, along with Seirr's corpse. Left with only Ki-Adi-Mundi and Shaak Ti to battle, the two powerful Jedi Masters seemed a match for the deadly General, so with no choice left fended them off by spinning his hands, turning the lightsabers in them into buzzsaws. As the two were temporarily taken aback by this, Grievous used the distraction to kick Mundi aside before unleashing a frenzy of blows against Shaak Ti. Grievous had trouble defeating her as she held her own against him for a respectable stint. As Mundi rushed to her aid, Grievous disarmed her and sent a massive finishing blow her way. While Shaak Ti was able to protect herself from the slash with the Force, the kinetic energy it imparted was enough to pick her up and send her flying into a wall of wreckage. Grievous defeated five of the Jedi and was about to finish Ki-Adi-Mundi when a rescue team of ARC troopers led by Fordo came to their aid. Ultimately, only three Jedi present were rescued by Fordo's team: Mundi, Secura and Ti, K'Kruhk was thought to be dead but suvived. Though critically wounded, Master Ti managed to survive the deadly attack. Shortly after the incident on Hypori the Jedi High Council gathered to discuss their next move in the war. Shaak Ti felt that the Jedi Order was in need of more Jedi Knights and agreed with Obi-Wan Kenobi's suggestion to forego the Jedi Trials and replace them with the war itself. However, Shaak Ti also had doubts about Anakin Skywalker's proposed promotion to Jedi Knight and felt he should first face the Trial of Spirit, on this she, Oppo Rancisis and Even Piell were agreed. But it was decided he would become a Jedi Knight and, with the rest of the Jedi Council, she was present at Skywalker's Knighting ceremony.
Battle of Brentaal IVEdit
Five months into the war, the Galactic Republic had received information that a Separatist stronghold would be lying dormant for a few weeks opening a window of opportunity to attack. In addition, it was learned that the planet was seceding to the Confederacy. The planet, Brentaal IV, was a vital link in the Perlemian Trade Route connecting the Core Worlds and the Tion Cluster. The Republic sent what should have been an adequate task force for the job, comprising four Jedi and a strong complement of clone troops and air land vehicles, with the entire effort being coordinated by Jedi Master Plo Koon, in orbit. Shaak Ti and Master Shon Kon Ray led a strike force on Brentaal IV. General Ti commanded the ground forces. Part way through the battle, Shaak Ti sent word to Plo Koon that she was going to attempt to rally the Republic forces at the fortress for one last push. About four troops found their way to meet Jedi Master Shaak Ti at the entrance to the fortress sewers. They decided that the Republic's best chances laid in the destruction of the fortress' ion cannon batteries and shield generators. With those destroyed, an airship could execute a bombing run and decimate the opposition. As Master Ti lead the group into the fortress, it became realized that the fortress was truly a prison and that the commotion on the surface had incited a jail break. Master Ti, realizing the need for more troops, guaranteed the prisoners their freedom if they would help her bring the fortress down. The group of prisoners included the hidden Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos—who had been lost to the Jedi Council for some years— along with the renegade Senate Guard Sagoro Autem and the criminal Lyshaa. The mission forced Master Ti to confront Lyshaa, who had killed one of her former students, Fe Sun. Eventually, the force split apart to accomplish their mission. Quinlan Vos and Autem were sent after the guns, the single clone trooper left in the company went toward the shield generators, and Master Ti and Lyshaa went to capture Shogar Tok. Master Ti refused to be goaded by Lyshaa, and allowed the Zeltron to help her infiltrate Shogar Tok's chambers, using Lyshaa's ability to project and control other's emotions thereby allowing the mission to end bloodlessly. Meanwhile, Agen Kolar who had been captured and imprisoned was being questioned by Count Dooku. Dooku was very interested about what became of Shaak Ti. Agen Kolar told Dooku that the General had been slain. Dooku, nevertheless, did not fully trust Kolar's words and ordered Shogar Tok to send a detail in search of her body and confirm her death. As Shaak Ti and Lyshaa reached Tok's chambers, Lyshaa attempted to attack Shaak Ti and escape, in which both became trapped in a lightstorm chamber that was an automated device that was triggered by Lyshaa's presence. After both escaped the deadly chamber, Lyshaa actually having been saved by Shaak Ti, they continued their way to Tok's chambers. When they finally reached the chambers, Lyshaa was able to cloud Tok's emotions but also turned on the General. Shaak Ti was shot in the stomach by the Zeltron before she could arrest Shogar Tok. As Lyshaa tried to gain Tok's favor, neither party was aware that Master Ti was still alive. She slowed her metabolism down while using the Force to heal her injury. As the rest of the team completed their missions to disable the fortress' defenses, Master Ti revived herself and confronted Kamino Tok. Shaak Ti engaged Tok and Lyshaa in a fierce duel but pushed Lyshaa out of the fight before Lyshaa could strike her down. In the ensuing duel, she was forced to kill Shogar with her lightsaber. Distrusting of Shaak Ti's mercy, Lyshaa tried to escape, but was killed in a lightstorm chamber protecting Tok's office. With Brentaal IV freed from Separatist control, Master Ti was rescued and placed in a bacta tank to heal.
Battle of CentaresEdit
Sometime during the early stages of the Clone Wars, Shaak Ti lead a victorious assault on the world of Centares. The victory on Centares allowed the Republic access into the Outer Rim from a civilised planet.
Battle of DaguEdit
Nine months after the start of the war, Shaak Ti and a large group of clones were captured and imprisoned on the swampy planet of Dagu, which was controlled by one of Count Dooku's most cunning Dark Jedi, Artel Darc. Darc was unaware, however, that Shaak Ti was among the prisoners. She and her forces began to lead a revolt against the grip of the Confederacy on Dagu. At first Shaak Ti destroyed droids and the clones perceded to pick up their weapons. Shaak Ti and Darc clashed, but Ti struck down Darc and freed the native Rybet slaves. For the victory, Shaak Ti was awarded a medal by Supreme Chancellor, Palpatine. Sometime in 21 BBY, Able was serving in the Republic forces under the command of Jedi General Shaak Ti when a squadron of droid fighters shot down his LAAT/i gunship over an uncharted planet. The crash and the subsequent fight with infantry battle droids killed most of his unit, while the perils of the forest and time killed the rest. Able, however, adapted and survived.
Mission to AndoEdit
Sometime during 22 BBY, Shaak Ti was sent on a mission to the ocean world of Ando. Not much is known about the mission other than that there was a separatist threat, she was successful and completed it.
Imprisonment on MetalornEdit
In 19 BBY, on Metalorn, Wat Tambor's troops had managed to capture Jedi Master Shaak Ti, and in turn imprisoned her in the maximum security section of Metalorn's Unreal City, a gargantuan prison. Apart from the Jedi Master the prison was empty of other prisoners. Shortly thereafter, Viceroy Bail Organa of Alderaan contacted Tambor, citing interest in applying Metalorn's infrastructure template to his homeworld. Meeting with Organa and his aides on Metalorn, he began giving the Viceroy a tour of the planet, spooling off facts and statistics about the economy of the system. Organa, however, expressed an interest in the prison facilities, which Tambor was only too happy to show off. Upon entry, however, Organa was able to pass a lightsaber to the captive Shaak Ti, allowing her to escape. Using the Force, Shaak Ti ignited the lightsaber within. Fighting their way through droidekas and battle droids, they finally reached Organa's ship, where Antilles safely piloted them off of the planet. On the Tantive IV, Ti told Organa that if he ever needed anything he should contact her. Organa agreed, not knowing that he would use this promise in the not too distant future.
Battle of CoruscantEdit
In the final days of the war, the Jedi were receiving more and more information regarding the supposed 'second Sith,' Darth Sidious. They traced information to the abandoned industrial sector of Coruscant known as The Works. Along with Master Windu and a group of highly trained clones they arrived at the reported lair of the Sith Lord. Though they found no trace of Sidious's presence, they discovered a network of tunnels leading straight to 500 Republica, confirming Dooku's claims of ties between the Sith and the Galactic Senate. Two squads infiltrated the building, Team Aurek led by Mace Windu and Team Bacta led by Shaak Ti. Bacta Team was a military unit tasked with locating Darth Sidious's location on Coruscant. The unit consisted of Galactic Republic Intelligence officers and clone troopers led by Jedi General Shaak Ti. Bacta Team worked closely in conjunction with Aurek Team. However, before being able to investigate further, the unthinkable happened. Out of nowhere, Separatist forces led by both Count Dooku and General Grievous attacked Coruscant. The Republic quickly realized what was happening and attempted to fight back. Yoda and Mace Windu led the clone security forces on the surface in the defense of the besieged Senate District. After ordering Shaak Ti and Stass Allie to find and protect the Chancellor, Windu and Kit Fisto boarded Jedi interceptors and engaged enemy starfighters in the skies above Galactic City. Meanwhile, Amidala was leading the evacuation of the Senate Apartment Complex with Captain Typho and her droid C-3PO. Before she left, she headed up to her office in the Senate Building with C-3PO to gather some important papers. While there, she met up with fellow senators Organa and Mon Mothma. On their way out, the three ran into the Jedi Shaak Ti and Stass Allie, who informed them that they were looking for the Supreme Chancellor. The Jedi lent the senators Allie's speeder to get them to a shelter. Along with Stass Allie, Ti helped evacuate the Senate Rotunda before heading with Jedi Masters Foul Moudama, Roron Corobb, Roth-Del Masona, and B'ink Utrila to ensure Supreme Chancellor Palpatine's safety. Upon their arrival in his office, however, Grievous broke in. Barely managing to save the Chancellor, the surviving Jedi led Grievous and his MagnaGuards on a chase through Galactic City. As the battle raged around his quarters in 500 Republica, Palpatine's advisors begged him to evacuate his apartment and move to a hardened bunker in the Sah'c District. Soon, Shaak Ti and Stass Allie arrived and ordered the Chancellor to evacuate his apartment. Before they could leave, Grievous crashed though the apartment window, intent on grabbing the Chancellor right in the midst of his security force. The Jedi managed to escape with Palpatine, while a squad of clone troopers and a Senate Guard remained behind to deal with the general. Brutally disposing of this force with his lightsabers, Grievous went after the Chancellor and his Jedi bodyguards, joined by his own bodyguards. Engaging in acrobatic maneuvers comparable to those of the Jedi themselves, the general and his bodyguards rigorously pursued, but again were eluded. After alerting Homeworld Security that Grievous had broken through the defenses, Shaak Ti took the Chancellor and his entourage of Red Guards to Republica's subbasements. There, they met up with Windu and Fisto and commandeered a mag-lev train that would take them close to the bunker complex. However, battle droids boarded the train, followed by Grievous himself. Fisto took on two of the General's elite IG-100 MagnaGuards while Windu dueled the cyborg atop the train. After an intense duel, Grievous was thrown from the roof, despite his lightsaber skills and his magnetic feet anchoring him to the train roof. But the general managed to survive, and commandeer a Republic gunship while his gunboat led his pursuers on a wild bantha chase throughout the city. After several duels and narrow escapes, the Chancellor and the Jedi arrived at a turboshaft leading to the bunker. Staying behind to deal with any hostiles, Shaak Ti sent Roron Corobb, Foul Moudama, Roth-Del Masona, and B'ink Utrila down with the Chancellor in case she failed, but it was all in vain. The hijacked gunship opened fire on Shaak Ti and Allie, and Grievous emerged. The general and his MagnaGuards cut a swathe through Palpatine's guards, killing more than forty clone troopers. While Shaak Ti fought off dozens of MagnaGuards, Grievous slaughtered all four Jedi Knights inside the bunker and seized the Chancellor. When the MagnaGuards ceased their attack and retreated into the darkness of the pod tunnel, Shaak Ti finally arrived, having sensed the setup, she realized that Grievous had tricked her and already made his way to the bunker. When she arrived Shaak Ti found her remaining Jedi comrades had been killed in combat. Tired from battle and racing on foot to the bunker, Ti was quickly subdued by Grievous after a brief duel. He snatched her lightsaber as a trophy, and left her trussed up by a force field wire in order to inform her rescuers that the Chancellor was gone. Immediately descending into the bunker, Windu discovered the slaughter of the Jedi and Red guards and the hanging Shaak Ti. Though Windu was astounded by the general's audacious move, he and Fisto were soon in hot pursuit, along with other Jedi pilots including Tiin, Kolar, L'lacielo Sageon and Pablo-Jill. After she had healed and the battle had ended Shaak Ti was present to see Anakin Skywalker's promotion to the Jedi High Council. The next day she was present when Yoda contacted them from Kashyyyk, although she was completely unaware of what was going to happen later that day.
Great Jedi PurgeEdit
Shaak Ti was selected to safeguard the Jedi Temple while Mace Windu took a group of Jedi Masters to arrest the Supreme Chancellor. Although she possessed considerable fighting prowess, Shaak Ti was chosen to stay at the Jedi Temple to organize the Jedi Temple's defenses. Moments before the Great Jedi Purge, Ti encountered Anakin Skywalker, while meditating near the Council Tower hangars, whom she believed was on his way to the Chancellor's office to help Mace Windu, Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, and Saesee Tiin in the arrest. She easily saw the sickness in his eyes as well as his cold determination. Thinking he should be at the infirmary rather than go out to assist the Jedi team with arresting the Chancellor, she offered him her healing powers and tried to stop him from leaving, but Anakin would not heed her advice, saying he was the Chosen One, and it was his duty to be present. She thought no reason to hold him against his will therefore she let him pass. As the Jedi Temple's commander and defender, Shaak Ti was present during the fall of the Jedi Temple, during which Darth Vader himself set out to kill the Jedi Master. Shaak Ti was deep in meditation when Darth Vader and his forces later stormed the Jedi Temple. She quickly rallied other Jedi and fought bravely to repel the attack, but it was soon obvious that the Temple would be lost. After ensuring that several Padawans and their Jedi Masters had escaped, Shaak Ti too reluctantly fled on her own. As the Clones continued the attack, Darth Vader discovered Shaak Ti in the accommodation rooms. Even though Shaak Ti dueled the Sith Lord, she managed to disorient Vader, and escape the Temple with her life. Knowing she would not be able to defeat Anakin Skywalker and the 501st Legion, she fled Coruscant and went into self-imposed exile on the fungal world of Felucia, where fellow Jedi Knights Aayla Secura and Barriss Offee were shot down. Although she was believed by some to have been killed during the attack, Shaak Ti, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Even Piell, and Yoda were the last four known surviving members of the Jedi Council.
Exile on FeluciaEdit
Shaak Ti narrowly survived the carnage of Order 66 and fled to Felucia. She searched the planet for any signs of other Jedi who managed to escape, and ultimately disappeared into the wilderness to flee from Imperial forces and find a safe haven. The Jedi Master struggled to survive in Felucia's harsh environment and eventually made contact with the native population living amid the dense fungi jungles. She established a rapport with the Force-sensitive Felucians and began training their shamans in specific powers to help them oppose Imperial troops and minions of Darth Vader who were hunting down the Jedi and seeking to eradicate the native Force users on the planet. While wandering the galaxy in search of other Jedi, Shaak Ti discovered the scared and confused Zabrak Padawan, Maris Brood. Master Ti was initially reluctant to take Maris as her apprentice; she had already trained two Padawans in her career, only to see both of them killed by criminals shortly after their graduation to knighthood. However, Shaak Ti sensed that Maris was tormented by her hatred for Darth Vader, who killed her previous master, and spirited her away to the lush fungus planet Felucia. Shaak Ti later became a respected Felucian Chieftain, commanding tribes of Force sensitive natives, teaching them to control their abilities, hoping they could defend Maris, should Darth Vader find her, and thus also prevent the barbaric warriors from slipping to the influence of the Dark Side. In 12 BBYTyphuss, a stromtrooper who left the Empire came to Felucia. The pliot got out of the fighter and Shaak Ti knew who it was: former clone trooper CC-2009, a clone trooper that Shaak Ti worked with during the Clone Wars. Maris knew the clone as well, the one who had killed Jedi Master Aayla Secura during Order 66. At first Master Shaak Ti didn't want Typhuss to live with them until Typhuss told her that he just left the Empire after the Battle of Kamino. Shaak TI allowed the clone trooper to live on the planet and hide with them from the Empire and Typhuss lived with her and Maris until 3 BBY.
Duel with Galen MarekEdit
Darth Vader instructed his secret apprentice, Galen Marek, to prove himself by killing a council member. Marek was sent to Felucia in order to find one of the last members of the Jedi Council of old; Shaak Ti. This was Marek's final test, before he and Darth Vader would attempt to overthrow Palpatine. By fighting Shaak Ti, Marek would face his greatest challenge yet. The Rogue Shadow was spotted as it reached Felucia's surface, and Shaak Ti mobilized the Felucian forces and sent Maris Brood to hide at the Rancor Graveyard. After killing his way through Felucians and rancors, Marek finally encountered the Jedi Master at the Ancient Abyss; a place of sacrifice for the Felucians, in reality the only known Mega Sarlacc pit. Marek eventually found the Togruta Jedi, who had taken a Rancor mount to the Abyss, which was the home of a mighty giant Sarlacc. She welcomed Vader's assassin and informed him of the Ancient Abyss and its nature. As she said this, a tendril from the Sarlacc moved up, and gripped the Rancor forcing it into its maw. With the creature dead, the two Force users entered into a duel. The battle began with Marek trying to throw objects at the Jedi Master, but Shaak Ti easily blocked his attack, and lunged at the young Sith apprentice. She summoned numerous Felucian warriors to attack Marek, whom he was able to defeat. Moving deeper into the Abyss, Shaak Ti used her control to influence the sarlacc beneath them to try to devour the young Force user. Marek reached by slashing off parts of the creature and using the Force to hurl them at Shaak Ti. Marek and Shaak Ti were both surprised and impressed by the other's powers and skills. The fight progressed around the sarlacc's center rings, where blow met counter blow. Marek was barely able to block Shaak Ti's rapid strikes.Their duel moved onto the moving tentacles of the sarlacc. The sarlacc attempted to crush Starkiller, but he used a Force Repulse to prevent being crushed and jumped off the sarlacc. Shaak Ti, still on a tentacle, ran at him at him along the tentacle with the intent to kill. She jumped and attacked, but at the last moment Galen Marek sensed her, turned around and deflected her blow, then he flung her back. He used Force lightning while she was suspended over the sarlacc and proceeded to Force push. Marek then shocked the tentecles of the sarlacc which flung Shaak Ti high into the sky, this concluded the duel, and Shaak Ti fell hard onto to the ground, mortally injured. Shaak Ti forced herself to stand up and informed Marek about how he could be 'so much more' if he turned to the light. Marek refused to believe her words and said that she would never turn him against his master. A pitiful look fell upon Shaak Ti, and, dying, she uttered a fateful prophecy, and told the young man that the Sith always betray one another and that he would learn that soon enough, and that only Marek could choose his path. She then purposely fell into the pit and conceded her defeat. Marek attempted to save her as she began her plummet, but her body exploded in blue light as she died, causing him to turn back and shield his eyes. With Shaak Ti's death, the world of Felucia fell into darkness.
LegacyEdit
After Shaak Ti's death, Felucia became corrupted. Shaak Ti had been the only thing holding Felucia in the light. With her death, the planet, along with Maris Brood, went sliding towards the dark side. The flora and fauna became more hostile, aggressive, and possibly mutated by the dark side of the Force. Her prophecy also came true when Darth Vader betrayed Galen Marek, by stabbing him in the back, when he was discovered by Darth Sidious. Approximately six standard months after Shaak Ti's death, Galen Marek questioned Rahm Kota, demanding to know where Bail Prestor Organa was. Kota revealed that Bail had gone to Felucia to ask Shaak Ti to rescue his daughter, Leia Organa on Kashyyyk, not knowing she had been killed. Marek and the group went to Felucia to locate the Alderaanian senator. Once he reached the planet, Marek felt troubled being back on Felucia since he deeply regreted killing Shaak Ti. Marek determined that Maris Brood, Shaak Ti's apprentice, had been corrupted along with the rest of the planet. Marek easily tracked down the rogue Jedi. Marek and Brood then entered a ferocious duel, in which Marek told her she had betrayed Shaak Ti's teachings and she told him that she would avenge the death of her master. After dealing with her and her Bull rancor, she begged for forgiveness saying that when Shaak Ti was killed, the planet and all its inhabitants were corrupted. Marek let her go despite the protests of the rescued Bail Organa. Later Typhuss joined the Brotherhood of Loyalists after Shaak Ti's death on Felucia.
Personality and traitsEdit
Shaak Ti was a notable exception to her communal species, preferring to operate alone whenever possible, despite the wishes and assistance of her fellow Jedi. Unlike most members of her communal species, she was solitary by nature; though, she fought at her best when in large groups.[23] Shaak Ti felt that training was more important than experience. The Jedi Council bore the responsibility of deciding whether a Jedi applied it well in actual practice. This mentality illustrated her pack hunting heritage -those who cannot run with the pack are left to die. According to Shaak Ti, this is the way of nature, and therefore the will of the Force. Shaak Ti had an unusual training style for a Jedi Master who seemed to be more interested in talking than in battle. This reflected the way of a Jedi Guardian more than the one of a Jedi Consular. Despite her seemingly unfeeling demeanor, Shaak Ti had a subtle sense of humor. Her natural patterning could be quite startling when Shaak Ti moved. Shaak Ti used her species' reputation to its full advantage when it was convenient to do so, frequently stealing up behind a person before speaking to them or baring her sharp incisors in a grotesque approximation of a human smile, though she was entirely capable of a perfectly ordinary smile. Shaak Ti was one of the Jedi known to have doubted Anakin Skywalker's powers. Shaak Ti was also an excellent commander and strategist, as she was a very cunning Jedi often bringing up useful ideas. She also proved to be a natural leader often being a lead Jedi in many missions. These characteristics were evident both during the Battle of Brentaal IV, and in the Battle of Kamino. However she tended to fail some of her missions. She failed to train well both of her Padawans, she failed to protect Chancellor Palpatine from the clutches of Grievous, and she failed to defend the Jedi Temple against the 501st Legion. Shaak Ti was very reflective and contemplative. When the Clone Wars came, she would meditate on war and reflect about its effect on Jedi. She had many questions and increasingly no time to ponder on them. It was her nature to find an answer, to find a way but in that she was having trouble. During the Great Jedi Purge, Shaak Ti chose to fade away into the backdrop of the galaxy biding her time until she could act. She didn't abandon her life as a a Jedi, but she did not actively seek to draw the Empire's attention. By retreating into the shadows, Shaak Ti ensured that the Empire's Jedi hunters did not find her, allowing her to prepare for a time in the future when she would once again step onto the galactic stage. She spent her days honing her skills in the Force, meditating and practicing her lightsaber techniques as well as training her final apprentice Maris Brood. She believed that her destiny had not yet been fulfilled, and that only the guidance of the Force, not her own desire to strike back at the Empire, was the true path to success.

She believed that her destiny had not yet been fulfilled, and that only the guidance of the Force, not her own desire to strike back at the Empire, was the true path to success. Powers and abilitiesEditShaak Ti was regarded as a Jedi Master of legendary power and strength in the Force and also of combat. Through her training as a Jedi Consular, she was able to focus more on her mastery of the Force through knowledge than through physical combat, which came naturally to her. The hollow spaces in her decorated montrals allowed her to ultrasonically perceive her surroundings, especially in bustling crowds. She used this ability during the battle of Brentaal IV, where she evaded blaster bolts instead of deflecting them. As with many Consulars, Shaak Ti had the Force ability to deflect Force lightning. She was also a skilled healer, using her healing powers to keep herself alive during the battle of Brentaal IV when she was shot by Lyshaa. Shaak Ti was so powerful and strong in the Force, that she took Felucia, a normal world enjoying the normal flows between the light and the dark sides of the Force and twisted it out of balance, so profoundly entangled had Shaak Ti become on the energy flows of Felucia, that the planet had become more alive with the Force. She was also a master at controlling great beasts like rancors, sarlaccs and was able to control fauna.
In addition to being incredibly powerful in the Force, Shaak Ti was a master of lightsaber combat, which she mastered to a degree that made her one of the finest swordswomen in the Jedi Order. Obi-Wan Kenobi regarded Shaak Ti as the most cunning Jedi he'd met, saying that she'd taught him a few tricks. Shaak Ti was a practitioner of the Makashi and Ataru forms, which determined her grace, serenity, fluency, and elegance in lightsaber combat. Even though these styles were considered to be better against lightsaber wielding opponents than blaster wielding ones, Master Ti was so skilled with the styles that she survived the Clone War. Shaak Ti also appeared to have some training in the Jar'Kai style, as she expertly wielded an electrostaff along with her lightsaber during the Battle of Coruscant, and sources describe her wielding dual lightsabers during the Jedi Purge.
Shaak Ti could even infuse the Force with her lightsaber. When she dueled Galen Marek she plunged her saber into the floor and sent powerful force tremors which followed Marek for a long time and she created a giant Force Blast by forming it with her lightsaber. Shaak Ti's Togruta heritage was evident in the accuracy and agility she demonstrated when moving and fighting in bustling crowds. Aiding in her perception of her surroundings are hollow spaces in her montrals that gathered information ultrasonically, allowing her to speed up her movements faster than any other Jedi. Shaak Ti was known to be a skilled hand-to-hand combatant and excelled in multiple weapons practices. Her natural ability to sense others' movements was drastically increased by her Force abilities. Shaak Ti's physical skills were critical in the defense of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine during the Battle of Coruscant, during which Shaak Ti bought time for Palpatine's escape from Grievous and his MagnaGuards by battling the entire group with her lightsaber, an electrostaff, and her bare hands. Grievous thought of her as a most gallant warrior. Even though Shaak Ti focused more in the Force than on combat, she was gifted in the art of lightsaber combat gaining her a reputation as one the finest swordswomen in the galaxy. Mace Windu, Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi considered her one of the greatest duelists in the Order's history and Darth Vader considered her to be a true Jedi Master.

Author's Note:
Dear Readers,
I have decided to postpone work on the latest chapter (Chapter 38), and instead begin reworking this story from the ground up. I have posted this reworked and revamped chapter 1, and I hope that everyone likes it. I realized that the story introduced Anakin's love for Shaak Ti too soon, and spoiled the 'chase.' Plus, I felt that everything was much too condensed and didn't flow very well. I am keeping the plot the same, although I will be severely lengthening the story, as well as making it flow better in terms of my writing style. I look forward to your feedback in the comments. I am not deleting the old chapters, but I will be slowly replacing them, so until I get more chapters out, everything will feel a bit disjointed. I appreciate your understanding and support, and I promise that I will use the ample free time I have between now and Jan. 1st to post many more reworked chapters!

In Love With A Master
Chapter One
One year had passed since the end of the Clone Wars. After three years of living hell, the galaxy was at peace once again. The leaders of the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS) had surrendered at their base on Mustafar, and sentenced to life imprisonment. The corporations that had backed the Separatists were disbanded, and their assets absorbed into the Republic. All the worlds that had formerly pledged allegiance to the CIS were granted amnesty, and any remaining battle droids and battle droid factories were shut down, with the droids being melted down and repurposed en-masse.

As the Chosen One, Anakin Skywalker had fulfilled the prophecy and brought balance to the force by exposing Chancellor Sheev Palpatine as the Sith lord Darth Sidious, and informing the Jedi Council of Palpatine's master plan to eliminate the Jedi through the Clone Wars and Order 66. He was aided by his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, and his former Master and lifelong friend Obi Wan Kenobi. He had confronted the Chancellor with Masters Mace Windu and Shaak Ti, and my padawan Ahsoka, and ultimately killed Sidious, as he was declared 'too dangerous to be left alive.'
Anakin still remembered it as if it was yesterday. As he was thinking about the events that had transpired that day, Ahsoka approached him.
'Hey Skyguy! Are you alright?'
'Hey Snips, did I ever tell you about what happened after the Chancellor knocked you unconscious?'
'I don't believe so, Master,' she replied.
'Well I think it's time that I filled you in on what you missed,' he said as he began to fill in Ahsoka.
It went something like this:
Master Yoda, in the most serious tone he had ever heard from the aged Jedi Master, instructed them to confront the Chancellor in his office immediately and, if necessary, execute him.
'Masters, I have a speeder outside ready and waiting,' Anakin said.
Master Windu turned to him, with a look of concern across his face. Anakin was amazed that he was able to make facial expressions at all, considering that he always seemed to have the same face of being emotionally detached from everything, and everyone, around him. He adopted a look of concern to match Windu's, instead of his normal method of dealing with tense situations by being lighthearted and carefree.
'Skywalker, do you think we can handle him with only four Jedi, or should I ask for reinforcements?'
'With all due respect Master, I think that the four of us can handle him; any more Jedi would simply get in the way and create confusion,' Anakin responded.
With that, the four fully-robed Jedi made their way to the speeder as quickly as possible for a Jedi. As soon as they gotten both feet in the speeder, Anakin started the engines and took off at breakneck speed towards the Senate building.
After they had succeeded in most likely causing traffic accidents and headaches for the police, they landed at the closest place to their destination. They grabbed their robes, and proceeded to their final destination. They made their way to the Chancellor's office at walking speed, as opposed to the frantic run to the speeder in the Temple, in order to maintain calm and avoid suspicion.
Once they were standing outside the office doors, Master Windu made sure that everyone was clear on the plan.
'I will confront the Chancellor. I want you three ready to draw your lightsabers at a moment's notice, in case he tries anything. Stay on your guard, and don't let yourself be consumed by anger.'
He opened the door, with Anakin, Shaak-Ti, and Ahsoka following behind him.
The Chancellor spun around in his chair, and addressed Master Windu.
'Master Windu. I take it that General Grievous has been destroyed, then? I must say that you are here sooner than expected.'
Mace drew his lightsaber and activated it, with the other Jedi following suit.
'By order of the Galactic Senate,' Master Windu said, 'you are under arrest, Chancellor.'
'Are you threatening me, Master Jedi?'
'The Senate will decide your fate,'
'I AM THE SENATE,' he growled.
'Not yet,' said Master Windu.
Palpatine stood up, and a previously concealed lightsaber emerged into his hand.
'It's treason, then,' he said as he activated his red lightsaber.
He leapt into the air, spinning as he hurled himself towards the group of Jedi. He began by focusing on his padawan, using his sith lightning to render her unconscious and cause her to collapse in a heap against the wall.
Anakin quickly glanced over at her, but soon returned his focus to the battle at hand.
I will check on her after we're done here.
Palpatine chose to attack Shaak Ti next, with each blow from his lightsaber accompanied by a counter-blow from the Jedi Master. Remembering that he had two other Jedi to deal with, Sidious used his force lightning to knock Master Windu unconscious as well, and using the force to fling him across the room like yesterday's trash.
With only Anakin and Shaak Ti left standing, it was up to them to fight the Sith Lord. Each blow from Sidious was matched by counterblows from the two Jedi, and his sith lightning was absorbed by one of their lightsabers. During the fighting, Shaak Ti's leg made contact with his lightsaber, causing her to fall to the floor. Palpatine used a force push to send her flying across the room.
'NOOOO!' Anakin yelled.
Amd e1-2100 apu with radeon(tm hd graphics driver. His anger boiled over, and he struck Palpatine as hard and fast as he could.
'Anakin my boy, think of all that we can accomplish together. We could bring peace to the galaxy!'
'I'll never join you!' he yelled in response, 'The Jedi are my family, and I will fight to the death to protect them.'
'I can bring back your mother.'
My mother? What does he mean?
This caused Anakin to lose my focus, allowing him to strike him with his lightning. He fell to the floor, dropping his lightsaber in the process. Palpatine used this opportunity to kick it away from him, and attacked the now defenseless Jedi with his lightning.
'Young fool. Only now at the end do you understand,' he said to Anakin as he writhed on the floor in pain, 'Now, suffer the consequences of your lack of vision.'
'Now, young Skywalker, you will die,' he said, an evil grin emerging on his face.
Anakin was still on the floor, completely engulfed in the pain he felt. He thought it would never end.
Suddenly, the pain stopped, as if someone had unplugged the Chancellor. He looked up, and saw a blue lightsaber protruding from his attacker's chest, and saw the now limp body of Darth Sidious fall before him as he heard the sound of a lightsaber being sheathed.
Shaak Ti was standing over him, and he wasn't sure if she knew that he was conscious. She checked his pulse, and with a hand on each cheek, looked into his eyes and begged him to respond.
'Oh my Force Anakin, please say something, give me some sign that you are still in there!'
Not one to disappoint, Anakin looked up at her, and gently placed his hand on hers.
She immediately hugged him, crying onto his shoulder for a moment before pulling away. She wiped the tears from her eyes, and asked if he was injured.
'I've had worse, but I think I'll be alright,' he said.
Master Windu and Ahsoka were still unconscious, so the two Jedi carried them to the speeder, and returned to the temple.
Later that day, after hearing the news, the Senate held an emergency election to find a new Chancellor. It was decided that the decision would be announced to the public by having the newly appointed Chancellor address the galaxy regarding what had happened. Not even the Jedi knew who it was until it appeared on the Holonet.
The Jedi Council, along with Anakin and a somewhat conscious Ahsoka, watched from the Council chambers as Senator - now Chancellor Amidala addressed the galaxy, including the worlds still loyal to the Separatists.
'Citizens of the Republic, It is my duty to inform you that Chancellor Palpatine was a Sith Lord by the name of Darth Sidious. It was he that started the Clone Wars, through manipulation of both sides, in an attempt to collapse the Republic and destroy the Jedi Order. Earlier today, four Jedi confronted and killed Darth Sidious, which I hope is the first step towards peace in the galaxy. To any worlds still loyal to the Confederacy of Independent Systems, I must inform you that you have been lied to - Count Dooku, who claimed to be your champion for freedom, and the corporations that supplied your battle droids, were pawns to Darth Sidious. As of the time of this broadcast, I have been chosen as the new Chancellor of the Republic. As Chancellor, I urge you to make peace with the republic and end this pointless war. Thank you.'
Master Yoda was the first to speak.
'Sense, I do, that surrender, the Separatists will not. More time, it will take. Force a surrender, we will. Young Skywalker, congratulate you on behalf of the Jedi, I do. Restored balance to the force, you have. Master Kenobi, return to the Outer Rim with Anakin, you must.'
Anakin bowed out of respect and left.
'And you woke up shortly after, Snips.'
'Wow. I knew about what happened in the Council Chamber, but nobody ever told me that Master Ti saved your life.'
'You're the first person that I've told besides Obi Wan.'
'I'm glad that you trust me enough to tell me, Skyguy.'

Six months after the death of Palpatine, and nothing had really changed for Anakin Skywalker. Life went on. The Separatists were still fighting the Republic, and although they had lost many worlds, they were still able to increase the death toll for the Republic daily.
Anakin was on mandatory leave from the front after almost six straight months of fighting. He knew he needed a break, so when he was ordered to return to the Temple, he didn't complain.
When he arrived back, he got a comm from Obi Wan telling him that the Council wanted a full debriefing on the fighting in the Outer Rim.
He arrived at the Council chambers, and gave the most thorough briefing of his life. He was about to leave, when Master Yoda told him to wait. Impatient and tired, he turned back around.
'Yes, Master Yoda?' he said.
'An important announcement, I must make. Concern all Jedi, it does.'
He asked Master Windu to transcribe what he said, and turned to address the Council: 'See the effects of this war on the Jedi, I do. Great pain and suffering, it has caused. To prevent further suffering, allow attachment for Jedi, I do. Free to love, they are.'
Master Windu finished his transcription, and handed the pad to Yoda. With a tap of his finger, he sent the transcript of his announcement, as well as an audio recording of it, to everyone in the Jedi Order. Everyone present, including the usually expressionless Master Windu, were shocked. Nobody could find the words to express the disbelief they felt.
Sensing the awkwardness of the situation, Anakin turned to his former Master and indicated that he wanted to leave. Obi Wan nodded in approval, and Anakin quickly exited the Council Chambers.
He was heading back to his quarters when he saw Shaak Ti. For months, he had been meaning to thank her for saving his life, but he hadn't gotten the opportunity. Now, however, he had a golden opportunity. He saw her in the hall and, without wasting any time, ran to catch up to her.
'Master Ti, may I speak to you for a moment?'
'Absolutely, Master Skywalker.'
He pulled her into the first empty room, with a look that she had come to know meant that he had something important to say.
'Master-,' he said before she cut him off.
'Please, call me Shaak Ti.'
'Shaak Ti,' he said, testing the word as it left his lips, 'I wanted to thank you for saving my life. I know there is no way words can repay you, but at least it's a start. And please, call me Anakin.'
She giggled.
'It's ok Anakin, you don't have to do anything to repay me.'
'I do. I must repay you somehow.'
'Well, since you're so set on expressing your gratitude, maybe you could help me with some training on Kamino? I'm supposed to leave tomorrow and spend a week there overseeing the training of new Clones. They are excellent soldiers, but the training process can be somewhat tiring at times. I could really use a hand.'
Without hesitation, Anakin turned to her and said 'I'd be more than happy to!'
'Great! I'll meet you at the hangar tomorrow.'
With that, she turned around to leave, glancing back to look at him one more time before they parted ways.
As Anakin was walking back to his dorm, he saw a plethora of Jedi that had decided to make their previously secret relationships public, with some even kissing in the hallways. All of this reminded Anakin that he had been feeling rather lonely lately, especially when it came to finding love. He had tried in the past, but it never seemed to work.
I might have a chance now, what with the Council allowing attachment and relationships among Jedi.
He was determined to change his luck for the better.
